PACE provided quick turnaround on this labor-intensive, through-hole sub-assembly manufactured at the PACE Technology plant in China. Components were inserted by hand and wave soldered. PACE custom designed and tooled the crimped tin-plated connector lugs. This unit is produced in high volume: 100,000 per month, 3.5 million assemblies a year. PACE maintains two-month stateside buffer inventories to ensure JIT delivery.
By combining high-volume production at the lowest possible cost with JIT delivery to minimize the customer’s investment in inventory, the PACE solution helps this customer compete in a highly price-sensitive market.
